Summary

Q: What’s the opposite of a “meet cute?”

A: Meeting a handsome guy at the very moment you’re breaking out in hives all over your body。

The mysterious allergic reaction I have at the hockey game is terrifying。 But it’s just a little less terrifying when a big, strong equipment manager for the Brooklyn Bruisers saves the day。

That’s how I meet James “Jimbo” Carozza。 When I’m alone and frightened, he gets me the help I need, and delivers me safely to the emergency room。

Too bad I don’t even get his number…

What a douchecanoe。 The fact that Emily got to meet a man like James only emphasizes that fact。And James。。。 he can win over anyone。 He's the sweetest guy, attentive, friendly, loyal, and absolutely adorable and easy to swoon over。 His interactions with the team were lots of fun, and even if you haven't read the other books in the series (I haven't) it can totally be read as a standalone。This is a story about how the good guy actually does get the girl sometimes。 And I know quite a few people who wouldn't mind a Jimbo in their lives。So good! 。。。more

So much fun…Packed in a little book。 We’ve been reading about Jimbo for years in the Brooklyn hockey books, so it’s great to see him get a little love。 ❤️ Now I’m off to reread all the Bruisers books。

4 stars! This is such a cute read! A standalone novella set in Sarina Bowen’s Brooklyn Bruisers world, this is a story for equipment manager, Jimbo, and it’s a quick, cute read that manages to bring the feels。 Originally offered in serial form for Sarina Bowen’s newsletter subscribers over 13 episodes, it has now been published for all to read and enjoy, and it’s a great read for fans of the series。Emily is leaving a Bruisers game when she experiences a sudden allergic reaction。 Unsure of what is 4 stars! This is such a cute read! I loved watching him and Emily finally come together。He is aided along the way by the Bruisers players, who look upon him as a little brother。 In scenes that had me laughing out loud, they tease and rib, and attempt to ‘help’ him get his girl。 So freaking funny, and I love seeing these boys again。 I miss them! Speaking of, there’s some epic hockey moments in this one, scenes that play out brilliantly on the page, just like a movie, and that had my heart pounding。 So much fun! It’s all topped off with a happy ending, I really enjoyed this novella。 It’s sweet, cute, and beautifully heartfelt。 4 stars! 。。。more

Too Short This is more of a short story than a novel。 I did not realize that when I purchased the kindle version。 Also, the love interest is an equipment manager - not a hockey player。

So cute but should have been longer。 Jumbo deserves it。

Again, another series that is well established and wonderful to come back to because you get to see so many characters that you have met and come to really adore。 This series has been a pleasure to read and I have to admit, I've even become a fan of hockey because of it。 This was a shorter story - more of a novella - that introduces us to the equipment manager of the Brooklyn Bruisers, Jimbo。 I liked him from the first moment he appeared on page。 He has the perfect amount of confidence and vulne Again, another series that is well established and wonderful to come back to because you get to see so many characters that you have met and come to really adore。 This series has been a pleasure to read and I have to admit, I've even become a fan of hockey because of it。 This was a shorter story - more of a novella - that introduces us to the equipment manager of the Brooklyn Bruisers, Jimbo。 I liked him from the first moment he appeared on page。 He has the perfect amount of confidence and vulnerability and is honestly just a pretty great guy。 We also get to meet Emily, who is a pretty likeable character as well。 She, on the other hand, is not at her best when they meet。 She is at a crossroads in her life and in her current relationship。 This was a very quick read。 It moved pretty quickly and ends with a nice HEA。 My favorite part though was getting to see the guys ( and some of the gals) from other books and I think I loved that more than anything。 Those guys - a bigger bunch of gossipers you will not find。Another win for Ms。 Bowen。 I'll admit。。。I'm hooked。 。。。more

Oh, my heart!!! I read Must Love Hockey when it was released in serial form and couldn't WAIT to get my hands on this novella so I could have it all in one place。 This novella is sweet, funny and full of heart。 This is something I will come back to again when I need a smile。。and a sigh。If you've read any of Sarina Bowen's Brooklyn Bruisers books then you've met Jimbo。 If you haven't, it's ok。 You can absolutely follow this just fine-but I guarantee you that you'll want to read more。 But I digres Oh, my heart!!! Sarina Bowen is one of those authors that never leaves a stone unturned。 She’s an expert at giving beloved secondary characters their own wonderful story。 She’s done this with none other than the young equipment manager of the Brooklyn Bruisers, Jimbo! Jimbo has quite literally grown up in the Brooklyn Bruisers series and now it’s his turn to find love。 When he runs into NYU student Emily Chen outside the loading dock of the Bruisers’ Brooklyn arena, what should be a “meet cute” is anything but。 Sarina Bowen is one of those authors that never leaves a stone unturned。 She’s an expert at giving beloved secondary characters their own wonderful story。 She’s done this with none other than the young equipment manager of the Brooklyn Bruisers, Jimbo! Grab it and put a smile on your face! 。。。more

Must Love Hockey is absolutely darling。 Originally published as a serial in author Sarina Bowen's newsletter, the episodes are now combined in a novella and I am so glad to have it on my kindle。 I always thought Jimbo, the equipment manager of Bowen's fictional Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team, needed his own girl and story, and Emily (and their not-so-meet-cute) was perfection。 It was great to see favorites from the Bruisers help Jimbo pursue and woo Emily。 Must Love Hockey is absolutely darling。 Originally published as a serial in author Sarina Bowen's newsletter, the episodes are now combined in a novella and I am so glad to have it on my kindle。 I always thought Jimbo, the equipment manager of Bowen's fictional Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team, needed his own girl and story, and Emily (and their not-so-meet-cute) was perfection。 It was great to see favorites from the Bruisers help Jimbo pursue and woo Emily。 。。。more

Unexpected Benefits of a Tick BiteI absolutely LOVED this story! Sarina Bowen was kind enough to share this with her newsletter readers over the course of a few months。 I looked forward to a new addition to the story every time her name popped up in my email! James and Emily didn’t come to be easily。 Emily was in a long-term committed relationship when her world was literally flipped upside down。 James won me over from the beginning。 He’s warm, sweet, and genuine。 Emily has needed to shake up her life a little bit but how it happened was not what she had in mind。 The banter between James and Bruisers teammates (and their partners) is AWESOME! I love how they are protective of him but also extremely welcoming of Emily, bending over backwards to try to get the two together。 And his large family is very similar in that regard。 I haven’t read any of the books in this series but I am now adding them all to my TBR list! ‘Must Love Hockey’ is a cute novella featuring Jimbo, the Bruisers equipment manager。 Jimbo is definitely the star of this book, he’s a total sweetheart with a sexy side and the scenes with the other guys from the team were hilarious。 However, I wasn’t a huge fan of Emily which is why I didn’t rate it higher。 She has a boyfriend for almost half of the book which in a novella eats up a serious amount of time。 Also she knows Jimbo has feelings for her and strings him along while she is still techn ‘Must Love Hockey’ is a cute novella featuring Jimbo, the Bruisers equipment manager。 Jimbo is definitely the star of this book, he’s a total sweetheart with a sexy side and the scenes with the other guys from the team were hilarious。 However, I wasn’t a huge fan of Emily which is why I didn’t rate it higher。 She has a boyfriend for almost half of the book which in a novella eats up a serious amount of time。 Also she knows Jimbo has feelings for her and strings him along while she is still technically dating someone else。 。。。more
